Pantone Experiments: Temperature

Investigation into Temperature within colour

Temperature is formed by juxtaposing hues that can be considered ‘warm’ or ‘cool’. Also known as the contrast of warm and cool

For my investigation into temperature I created two sets of five images within the set of 10 images for each different coloured objects. Within the first five images I ordered the background coolest to warmest and then took 5 images contrasting the coolest with the warmest with the 5th images meeting in the middle of this contrast. For the other five images I selected 5 backgrounds of the colour of the object that best represented the range from cool to warm and then contrasted this with 5 background ranging from cool to warm of the next adjoining colour in the perceptual colour wheel.
